This was a very good stay, and I’d recommend the apartment if noise and stairs aren’t an issue for you. The host was responsive and gave detailed access instructions, and check-in and check-out were simple. The apartment is new, clean, airy, and fully equipped. There’s a washing machine in the shared first-floor area, a real convenience for longer stays. It’s in a three-story building with six apartments, right in the middle of Ortigia’s historic center, so everything is close. That central position also brings noise into the early morning, then again at dawn when garbage trucks arrive and hundreds of empty bottles are collected. The building is historic, with no elevator and quite a few stairs between and up to the apartments, so it isn’t accessible. Linen and towel changes cost extra. Only liquid soap is provided, so bring shampoo, conditioner, and body lotion if you use them. The starter supplies are three toilet rolls and two small bottles of water in the fridge; you’ll need to buy more, though the supermarket is only steps away.
