There was hair on the pillow, and dust under the bed like it had never been cleaned. The rooms were very dirty, with cockroaches and half the furniture broken. The shower is small, and if you’re traveling with a baby, forget it, you can’t wash properly because the shower head doesn’t move. There’s no AC in the room.

4/10
The apartment was large, and there are basic shops nearby, but the overall stay was below average. “Royal” hardly describes it. The place was old, with mismatched furniture, some in very bad shape, clearly reused from other accommodations. It had a strong 80s feel. The supplied items and equipment were beyond a joke: no cutlery, cookware, or dishes, and not enough toilet paper. The fridge didn’t cool properly. The shower head and sink knobs were heavily moldy or rusty, and the shower still didn’t drain properly after the plumber came. The A/C was pretty noisy.

8/10
The location is good, and having a kitchen in the apartment was useful. Laundry was quick and done well. The internet connection was unreliable, smoking didn’t seem to be restricted indoors, and there were no English-language TV channels. Still, I’d recommend the apartment house.

The rooms are old, but everything worked. I didn’t get any check-in instructions after booking, and reception isn’t staffed all the time.

It didn’t feel all that royal.
