The food was excellent. The location is great for wandering the old streets and taking photos, or catching the sunrise over the sea. One shower tip: point the smaller nozzle down before you turn the water on.

The Easy Room was a letdown: bad smells, poor windows, a cramped feel, and noisy air conditioning. The hotel may have been premium back in the 2010s, but it feels badly maintained now and needs much stronger upkeep and management. The Trip Advisor Winner title from 2012 doesn’t seem to reflect what’s happened since. Breakfast was okay, though a bit amateur for a hotel trying to compete at the high end. The location felt random, and renting e-bikes wasn’t a practical option. We were quoted €20 per bike for the roughly 20-minute ride to the city or Ortigia at 8 pm, even though the bikes would stay at the hotel overnight. Then we were told a taxi would be €20 each way, which felt like an attempt to steer our choice. We ended up taking our own car. That says a lot about the poor customer service and lack of focus. I wouldn’t stay here again or recommend it.

We booked on the spot at 11 pm without having a reservation. The room had a wide bed with a firm mattress, but only one charging outlet. Breakfast was included in the stay and had hot options, fresh juices, and sliced ham. You could order an omelet through the app. The pool and spa cost extra, about €40 per person. There’s also a rooftop self-service bar where you log what you take on the computer.

The spa felt a little overpriced for what it offered, but I’d still highly recommend the hotel. It was such a fun stay, with modern, high-tech features and five-star service. The team even went out of their way so we could watch a game we wanted to see. Breakfast was delicious, made fresh to order each day, not the dry packaged biscuits we found elsewhere. This was easily the best hotel we stayed at in Sicily, a real contrast with the old-fashioned, overpriced places around it.
