Villa Antares

Really disappointed. There was no shower gel or toilet paper, and the Wi-Fi barely worked. I could only get a signal by the door. Booking said breakfast was included, but all they had was espresso and bread, with no butter or spread. “Good for the birds,” I guess. None of the staff spoke English. When we asked for help, they told us to send an email. With all that, I really can’t recommend this place for a holiday.

The beach is just a 10-minute walk away, and the villa sits in lovely, quiet surroundings. There’s a very characteristic bar and restaurant nearby, and the staff member we dealt with was so kind and helpful. We were sorry to hear on our way out that it was his last day of work. That said, a villa should have some basics that were missing here: shampoo and soap, bedside lamps, and somewhere to dry towels and swimsuits. The Wi-Fi password wasn’t written in the room either. Arriving after 6:00 PM also means an extra €15 per person. Even so, we had a wonderful time.

We did enjoy the beautiful sea view from the property, even though the day we arrived was gray and rainy. The next day was sunny, but it was the view I hadn’t booked. I had selected and paid for a room with a pool view, sea view, and terrace, and instead got a different one across the pool with only a partial sea view. When I called to ask why, the lady said the room I chose obviously wasn’t available. I don’t think that’s acceptable, and nothing was changed. The place looks nice, but it wasn’t as carefully kept as the photos suggest, and the rooms didn’t look like the pictures. The receptionist was very kind. Breakfast was one croissant per person, a pod coffee machine, and a box of tea. They ask how you’d like your croissant for the next morning and call it an Italian breakfast. The croissant was good, at least. The bathroom is small and has no bidet, though it does have a toilet with a showerhead. We had two bathrobes, towels, one roll of toilet paper, and a hairdryer, but no tissue bin or courtesy kit. The pillows were incredibly uncomfortable. The terrace lights didn’t come on at night whatever button we pressed, and the stairs down from the rooms to the entrance were completely dark too. The sea view is lovely, and the bathroom was nice, but there are things they should sort out.
