The garden was lovely, the rooms clean and pleasant, and breakfast was good. But I came with my dog, and the stray dogs that were being fed around the property made it impossible to relax. They were often waiting outside our room, so we felt stuck indoors. When we got out of the car, they even rushed at and nipped my dog. I work with dogs and know how this can go. We weren't warned until the morning we arrived, despite the place being advertised as pet friendly. There was no manager or host around for 20 hours, and the strays were left loose. Their barking also kept us up at night. I'd booked 10 nights, but left after just a few hours. I was really looking forward to the trip, and eventually found somewhere that felt more welcoming.

Villa dei Papiri had no kitchen, so we went to Villa Cristina for dinner while staying nearby. The staff were so friendly and the food was the best I had on holiday. I'd recommend a visit to anyone wanting a genuine taste of Italy and Sicily.

The agriturismo looks nice, but the restaurant was very poor value. We paid 40 euros per person. The starter was okay, while the pasta was below the Sicilian average and the main course was very basic. One piece of fish was a decent fillet, but the other had lots of bones, and the plate came with just a little salad. Dessert was basic too, just fruit. I really can't recommend it.
