The room was pretty noisy, with music outside going on until midnight, and the windows don’t block the sound at all. There’s also no way to shade them. The apartment is small, but a few repairs already mentioned in reviews two years ago would make it nicer. The air conditioning needs cleaning and has mold, as does the bathroom ceiling. Some sockets are incomplete or don’t work, so charging a phone isn’t possible. It’s a shame that these silly details spoil the place.
The apartment is decent for the price, and the atmosphere is nice for a few days. I can imagine it might get boring if you stay longer. The air conditioning didn’t work, and there was no way to adjust the room temperature, which was the main downside. Still, overall it was okay.
We picked a room with a lake view, and that turned out to be a great choice. The room itself looked more spacious on the website, though we weren’t there to spend our time indoors. It’s generally clean, but the walls clearly need painting because they’re marked by mosquito repellent. The bathroom is cramped and small, yet very clean, with good water pressure and hot water, which matters in a place like this. The hotel is in a good spot, about a 15-minute walk from the ferry. There’s a bus too, although the buses seem to run on their own schedule. Breakfast was the usual Italian style, but when we asked for scrambled eggs, the chef made them for us. I’d recommend it to someone looking for a well-located hotel at an affordable price for the area. If you want a typical hotel stay, this may not be the place.
Being right in the busy city center beside Scaliger Castle is convenient, but the apartment is cramped even for a family of four. It’s small, though it has the essentials. We stayed for two nights since we’ve visited Sirmione several times already, and wouldn’t choose this apartment again. They drive you from the paid parking lot, which is a little farther out. Walking is possible, but I wouldn’t recommend it with several suitcases. The door stuck and got harder and harder to lock and unlock. The old town is lovely, with its little restaurants and ice cream shops. We like going there just for the ice cream. The supermarket and gas station are a bit of a walk away.
The two windows in the living room have no curtains, so the hot sun comes in and there’s no privacy. My apartment also faced inward, which meant there was no view of Sirmione despite the central location. Neighbors had children screaming on the terrace at all hours, day and night. For what they charge per night, I’d never come back. There are six apartments in all, two on each floor. The spiral stairs up to the second and third floors are extremely steep, with a risk of falling. One step was half broken and genuinely dangerous. The bathroom ceiling had a hole that just needed some plaster, and the shower was far too small. Online, it’s presented as a five-star place, centrally located, very nice, and with every comfort.
