My dinner at Restaurant Benaco in Sirmione was a major disappointment. The food seemed frozen and arrived nearly cold, with little attention to either flavor or presentation. For a hotel restaurant in Italy, that fell far short of even a basic standard. The service was impolite and didn’t make the meal any better. It felt more like eating in a poor-quality canteen. I wouldn’t recommend this restaurant to anyone expecting decent food.

The people were so nice, and they played great live music while the storm and rain were going on. The food and the whole experience were the best I’ve had. I’d really recommend this restaurant/hotel.

The pool area was a favorite, and we had a good time apart from a few things. Our room wasn’t the cleanest, and the air con mostly acted like a fan without controlling the temperature. Still, the staff were attentive and friendly, and breakfast had lots of good options. We didn’t have a car, so being close to the bus station was handy for getting to Old town, Verona, and elsewhere. The hotel also rents bikes.

Stay away from this place. Dinner was a complete horror. The salads were awful, and so was the meat. How can this happen in Italy? It felt like a child was cooking for the first time. I asked for half a portion for my child, but was charged the full price anyway.

The breakfast was very good, and the staff were friendly and welcoming. The hotel itself is good, but the shower and toilet are very close together, with the floor at the same level throughout. Water pooled up after a shower. It didn’t stay there, but it was still annoying.
