Hotel Continental Wellness & Spa

I loved swimming from the steps off the hotel jetty into the lake each morning before breakfast. The pool was brilliant too, and the spa is well worth making time for. From the pool and sunbathing spots, the view across the water is amazing. We stayed four nights in early October for my partner’s 50th birthday, and the hotel felt nicely removed from the busy town centre. The food was high quality, and the service was warm and attentive. It isn’t the cheapest place around, but I thought we got good value.

The hotel itself was lovely, with beautiful views and great spa facilities. The cleaning staff were great too. My massage was just okay, while my friend loved her facial. The staff service, though, really let us down. We had several unpleasant encounters, especially with the front desk, and even the masseuse and bartender seemed unfriendly. When I asked the desk to call our car service to confirm pickup, they refused because it wasn’t their service. Our ride to the airport was booked for 7:15 in the morning, but at checkout they wouldn’t let us leave because checkout supposedly didn’t open until 7:30. Our phones weren’t working, and they also refused to let us use theirs to confirm the ride before then. They all seemed to have an attitude toward us. Maybe it was because we’re American, though I can’t say for sure. After such lovely hospitality elsewhere on our trip, it was a disappointing ending. I personally wouldn’t return because of the service, though if that doesn’t bother you, the hotel itself is worth checking out.

The pool was the highlight, with the jacuzzi and all those sunbeds looking out over Lake Garda. We also loved waking up to a delicious breakfast and a beautiful view each morning. The location was excellent, just a few minutes on foot from restaurants and shops, and the service was some of the best we’ve had. Everything about the stay was great, and it’s one of the best hotels we’ve ever stayed in. A really special, unforgettable visit.

Dinner was delicious, a four-course meal, and breakfast was good. The hotel service was perfect, and we made great use of being so close to the lake and having a lovely pool. Our room was clean and spacious, though furnished quite simply. Men should know that dinner requires trousers, not shorts. If you’re driving, getting there through the historic centre’s very narrow, tourist-crowded streets is extremely challenging. Stay patient and calm so you don’t hit anyone. The hotel itself is very nice.
