Hotel Eden

Hotel Eden was a perfect home base for our five nights and for exploring the other towns on Lake Garda. Sirmione’s narrow lanes and medieval feel are magical. Being beside the ferry stop made it easy to head to a different town on the lake each day, and from our 3rd floor room we could watch the ferries arrive from the porch. Our room was clean, spacious, and looked out over the lake. Room service seemed to come at least twice a day: once while we were at breakfast to straighten things up, then again in the evening for turn down. We got fresh towels every day. The staff were very focused on guests and ready to help with whatever we needed. They even helped with a rental car reservation in a neighboring town. The front desk clerks, bar staff, breakfast crew, and room service team all did an outstanding job.

The lobby’s eclectic feel made me feel right at home, and the hotel was great value for the money. It’s right on the water, with the lake and lovely gardens just outside. Everything is within a 15 minute walk. My room was clean and comfortable, with plenty of closet space and A/C that worked perfectly. I was on the 1st floor overlooking the street’s outdoor dining terraces, so I kept the curtains closed. Driving through the old town tourists was interesting, but after you unload your bags, the hotel parks the car for you.

Room 203 looked out over Lake Garda, with beautiful views, though it could get a little noisy from the ducks and people below on the decking area. The ferry is a 1 minute walk away, and the location is hard to fault. Breakfast at the hotel was good. We found the local restaurants only average, but the staff were amazing and the hotel excellent. Overall, very good.

The location was fantastic, the rooms were great, and there’s a nice lobby bar. The staff were very attentive. Elvis was a great help with restaurant bookings and sightseeing suggestions, Robert made perfect Manhattans, and Paula was a very close second best.
