We lost around 450 euros on a hotel where we never stayed. We had paid in full and set off there straight from work, but our train to Milan broke down. By the time we got to Milan, there were no more connections to Sirmione. We told the hotel what had happened, stayed the night in Milan, and planned to continue the next day. Since we were already in town, we visited Milan's church in the morning, then went to the station to get tickets to Sirmione. When we arrived at the Sirmione station, Booking.com notified me that the hotel had cancelled our stay. We went to the hotel anyway because we had nowhere else to go. The man at reception said it was cancelled and told us to contact Booking.com. We explained that we’d already paid and that the website still showed rooms available for our dates, and asked if he could find us a room. He started shouting, ordered us off the property and threatened to get physical. He kept saying the booking was cancelled and to take it up with Booking.com. Booking.com told us he was ignoring their calls, and they weren’t helpful over the phone either. The hotel had a non-refundable policy. We understood that to mean we wouldn’t get a refund if we cancelled, and we were fine with that. But when the hotel cancels, they still keep your money.

Jessica and Giuseppe made us feel at home as soon as we arrived at Fiordaliso, where we stayed for three nights. They gave us a map and lots of ideas for places to visit. The rooms were very clean, had AC, and were cleaned each day, with fresh towels whenever we needed them. Breakfast ran like clockwork, served efficiently with plenty of options. And a shout-out to Giuseppe’s GT in the morning ;)

The family who runs this hotel made it feel like we were living in a movie. It had a cozy atmosphere, and the room was clean and pretty. Staff shared useful information about the area, and it was easy to get around. The service was amazing and breakfast was great. I’d love to come back and recommend it to anyone visiting Sirmione. It deserves another star, I really couldn’t find anything to complain about :))

A lovely small hotel run by a family. Everyone was friendly and professional, and the rooms were spotless. You can walk to the center and easily catch the shuttle to the old part of town. Breakfast was great too.

The breakfast was a real highlight, one of the best quality and most complete spreads I’ve had. Our room was small, but clean and good, especially the bathroom. The hotel is near the lake and buses to Desenzano and Peschiera. Walking from there to Sirmione can be a long, tough trek in summer, though taking the bus should be fine.
