There’s a story behind this house. Its original owner was very emotional and disappeared, but he was all right.

You can only see the property from outside, but the surrounding greenery makes the area worth a stroll. There’s also a plaque marking Maria Callas and Giovanni Battista Meneghini’s presence in Sirmione. The garden and the Lake Garda-shaped pool Maria Callas wanted have remained as they were. The villa isn’t usually open to visitors, though it hosts public events and concerts on certain occasions during the year.

The sign says Maria Callas lived in this villa with her husband Giovanni Battista Meneghini from 1950 to 1959. It’s about a five-minute walk from the centre of Sirmione, and both the villa and gardens are kept in excellent condition. Worth a visit.

A famous opera singer used this nice villa as a holiday home from time to time. We didn’t go inside, and I’m not sure whether visitors can.

On Lake Garda in Sirmione, this is the former home of the famous soprano Maria Callas. She moved in in 1952, and the property was sold after her divorce. Its exterior has stayed the same since it was bought in the 1950s.
