Hotel Roxy Plaza

Some of our things disappeared from the room, and when we told the staff, they said it wasn’t their responsibility. That was unacceptable and very unprofessional. We left with a very disappointing impression.

The room had some damage, including stains of unknown origin on the wall and the bed base. It also smelled strongly of cigarettes when we arrived. We’re both non-smokers, so we politely asked reception if we could move. We were rushing to a tour reservation and asked to switch rooms when we got back in about two hours. The receptionist said they’d arrange it. When we returned, though, we were told every room had been sold and they couldn’t help. They handed us a chemical product and suggested we use it ourselves, which doesn’t seem appropriate for a four-star hotel. At checkout, nobody asked how things had gone or apologized. It gave the impression they weren’t interested in providing a decent experience.

The staff were friendly and the service was great. I only wish I could have adjusted the room temperature myself.

Soave’s historic center is beautiful, and the hotel is in a very nice spot. Our room was spacious and quiet, with a king-size bed. The bathroom was spotless and well equipped, though it didn’t have a hairdryer. There were a couple of complimentary drinks in the mini-fridge. Breakfast was nice, if not outstanding. We had a great stay and felt it was very good value for what we paid.
