Hotel Val Di Fassa

The hosts were perfect, and the food was excellent. Breakfast came as a buffet, and the rooms were warm, cozy, and spacious. There’s a huge ski room and service area if you’re planning to race nearby. The view of the dolomites is breathtaking.

It’s a nice place, but the hotel managers are rude and don’t seem to understand hospitality. There’s never anyone at the bar, so if you want a coffee or anything else, you have to wait for someone to show up.

I booked through Booking.com and contacted the administration five days beforehand to explain that a death in the family meant I couldn’t use the reservation. They still charged the full amount and wouldn’t accommodate my request. They said there were no other dates available until further notice, so changing the booking wasn’t an option, and they wouldn’t discuss a different price either. Kindness and humanity should come first, but I found none here. A terrible experience, as other reviews also suggest.

The room was dirty, cramped, and poor value for the price. It was underground and felt like a prison, with a broken shower full of holes. People could see inside through the bathroom and bedroom windows. The woman who greeted us had very unpleasant manners. This is the worst hotel I’ve stayed in so far, and I strongly wouldn’t recommend it.
