The access track from the main road was pretty rough, though we managed it without trouble in a large, low estate car with front-wheel drive. Worth keeping in mind. Our stay itself was wonderful: the flat was spotless and well maintained, a comfortable base after exploring the surrounding countryside. It’s well located for southern Tuscany’s hill towns, vineyards, and hot springs, and Rome is only a two-hour drive away. Breakfast was generous and tasty, while dinner was a real highlight. Each evening brought hearty, authentic Tuscan home cooking. Our host Maryana was warm and welcoming from the start, always willing to help and making us feel at home. We’d highly recommend this peaceful, authentic getaway.

Birdsong woke us each morning, and on a walk we even spotted deer. We had an apartment with a kitchen, but didn’t end up cooking because the local restaurants serve such good Tuscan food. There’s also an olive garden where you can sample the local oil. A lovely place to relax in nature and feel close to Tuscany.
