The hotel inside the 12th-century Fortezza Orsini is a real hidden gem, and the fortress in the small town of Sorano is worth seeing in its own right. The building is magnificent, and the staff made just as strong an impression. Communication before and during our stay was personal, informative, and professional. We arrived late, after reception had closed, but the instructions made it easy to find our rooms and settle in. The owner and his lovely wife helped make the visit feel magical. Breakfast was among the best we had in Italy. The rooms are lovely, with modern comforts alongside plenty of rustic character. Keep in mind this is a very old building, and you have to use stairs to reach the rooms. We've stayed at many hotels and this is one of our favorites. We also highly recommend dinner at EnoRistrò.

We were staying five minutes outside Sorano, came here for dinner, and liked it so much that we booked two rooms for the last night of our three-week holiday. It became one of the trip's highlights. The historic fortress has been beautifully renovated, balancing old and new, and the food was spectacular. Everyone on staff was so friendly. I was sorry the restaurant was closed on Wednesday, since we couldn't have dinner there two nights in a row, but Sorano and the nearby villages have plenty of lovely bars and restaurants. We'd absolutely stay again if we can.

We left with so much joy and will definitely return. Cristiano, Silvia, and the whole team were exceptionally kind and helpful, and from the moment we arrived we felt genuinely welcome. Their passion comes through in the hospitality, service, breakfast, and the warm atmosphere throughout the hotel. The setting is peaceful and full of Tuscan character, with everything beautifully cared for and close attention to local tradition. The restaurant was a highlight too: local, honest food, prepared with care, and every dish felt like it told a story of Tuscany. A heartfelt, authentic stay that we'd recommend to anyone looking for a memorable Tuscan experience. Maybe we'll get to welcome you to Bonaire one day! Thanks!

The afternoon drinks and dinners at the restaurant were perfect, especially with a beautiful sunset alongside them. Our room was amazing and the bed was very comfortable. Cristiano, Sylvia, and their team were welcoming and attentive from the moment we arrived until we left. We spent four nights at Hotel Della Fortezza, and it was the highlight of our 17-day trip through Tuscany. We'll definitely be back. Hugs from Bonaire!

The hotel sits in a breathtaking spot and is genuinely something special. Since it's a castle, the rooms don't have the usual air conditioning setup you might expect, but that actually adds to the experience rather than taking away from it. Service was excellent, and both the restaurant and breakfast exceeded expectations. A highly recommended stop on a Tuscany road trip.
