Hotel Girasole

We had a fantastic holiday over our seven nights here, and we'll be back this time next year. The food was really good, and staff were polite and friendly. It's a good location, just a short walk into town. Some reviews mention road noise, but our room at the back was pretty quiet at night. The room itself is a little dated, so I'd give it four stars, though it was always cleaned to a high standard.

The walk into town takes about 10-15 minutes along narrow pavements beside a very busy road, day and night. That’s the main drawback. I liked being outside the resort centre, where evenings are quieter, though the road itself certainly isn’t quiet. Hotel Girasole has plenty of charm despite feeling a little dated, and the family who run it have a wonderful team. Dinner is simple, tasty Italian food, with a small menu that changes nightly. Drinks were the best value I found during our week in Sorrento. I’d stay again, especially for the staff.

The balcony view was genuinely amazing, and the staff looked after us very well. The room itself had ants, though, and the toilets barely had any water pressure. The place feels a bit like a 1950s hotel renovated around 2000. It wasn’t awful, just clearly dated.

The pool and gardens were spotless and really relaxing among the lemon and orange trees. Our room was on the small side, but we were hardly in it, so it worked out fine. The staff and service were fantastic. Be sure to stop at the bar in the evening, Rafael behind the bar is ‘the best’. We spent a week here from 7th July at this lovely, traditional Italian family-run hotel. The main road walk into town gets busy, but there’s a quieter route: take the first right as you leave the hotel and wind down toward the coast. It’s about 20 minutes to town and under ten to Sant’Agnello, where you can watch a beautiful sunset with a Spritz.
