10/10
Our wedding at the Grand Hotel Royal was exactly what we’d hoped for. Guiseppe and his team kept in touch throughout and made us feel heard and reassured about every detail. When the day ran a little behind, they adjusted the plan brilliantly. The hotel made a beautiful setting for a day we’d been looking forward to for two years, and the wedding meal was superb. Several guests said it was the best food they’d had on their whole trip, which says a lot in Sorrento. I’d give the place a million stars if I could.

The patio view was incredible, and everyone we met on staff was so welcoming and kind. We stayed for six nights, March 23-29, and even got a room upgrade, which was a lovely surprise. Our city-view room looked nice, though being next to the road made it quite loud. We came in the off season, so the beach area and the extra restaurants by the pool and beach were closed. Breakfast had a good range of choices, with eggs made to order, and the coffee was delightful. The lobby bar stays open until midnight, but drinks are pricey, with a Coke at €8. We’d definitely return, and can only imagine how lovely it must be in summer.

We booked the top-floor suite, and the private patio with sun chairs and a jacuzzi made it special. The hotel was beautiful and extremely clean, with a gorgeous view. What really stood out, though, was the staff. Every person we met was kind and attentive.

We were here for a wedding and only wished we’d had longer to explore the property. There are lots of lovely places to sit, relax, have a drink, and take in the surroundings. The ocean views and grounds made the stay feel special, and the location was handy for reaching the town centre. Our room was spacious and comfortable, and we especially enjoyed breakfast each day.

The property has three outdoor levels, including a lower one that leads to a dock right on the water. There’s a private beach club with food and drinks served, plus floaties, pool noodles, and snorkelling gear to use in the water. Even the sun loungers have attached umbrellas you can reposition as needed. The staff were incredible, and the location was beautiful and worth every dollar. Easily the best hotel I’ve stayed in, 10/10. We can’t wait to come back.
