Hotel Prestige

The setting is gorgeous, with a spectacular view over the cities and mountains and a lovely breeze when sitting outside. The hotel is in a fairly remote area, but the free shuttle helps with that. The staff are awesome, kind, helpful and lovely. They keep looking for solutions even when something may be beyond their ability or responsibility, so please treat them kindly. Rooms could be better. They're fine for sleeping and getting ready for the next day, but I wouldn't want to stay in one for a long time. Food and prices are good enough, especially for snacks. The options are broad enough for a hotel in such a remote location. When my family didn't like what was on offer, we bought food at the supermarket in Sorrento and brought it back. I'd recommend this hotel to anyone who likes good service and a relaxing setting and isn't a couch potato.

The hotel’s view over Sorrento was fantastic, and the free shuttles helped with the distance from downtown. We also enjoyed the friendly staff, food, pool, and tours arranged at reception during our four nights in September 2025. The bill at checkout still left a sour note. I’d booked a pizza-making course at the restaurant next door for myself. I noticed some conversation suggesting a package had been prepared for my wife too, but I never booked her onto the course. The hotel charged us 90 Euro for two people, saying there was a minimum of two. That hadn’t been explained when I booked. After I objected, we agreed I’d pay half of my wife’s charge. I got the impression the receptionist may have covered the other half himself out of guilt. There were also two servings of brushetta on the bill, though we hadn’t ordered them. They’d been brought to our table, and after ten days in Italy we assumed, as we often had elsewhere, that they were complimentary nibbles. At 8euro a serve, that was a surprise. I didn’t challenge that charge after the discussion about the course, especially with our 5am transfer coming and us being in a foreign country. We’d otherwise had a very enjoyable stay.

The staff made this stay stand out. Thomas, Luigi, and the woman working at the front desk on October 15th were especially kind, though we never got her name. Everyone, from reception and the shuttle to housekeeping, reservations, and breakfast, went out of their way to make things easy. They helped with buses, routes, ferries, excursions, taxis, and restaurant bookings, and made a foreign country feel welcoming. We’ve stayed at five-star all-inclusive resorts, Vegas suites, and Ritz Carltons, but the service here was unmatched. The hotel sits above the city with lovely views of Sorrento and the surrounding mountains. It’s not on the coast, and downtown is farther away, but the shuttle runs at specific hours. Call ahead for the schedule. The ride into town takes about 20 minutes and is simple. Rooms are pleasant in a Tuscan family villa style, with decent bedding and linens. Just don’t expect penthouse luxury, cashmere towels, or marble floors. Breakfast is an above-average continental spread, with bar service for coffees, alcoholic drinks, and extra kitchen items. Thanks to the staff for making the trip so comfortable.

Angela made all seven of us feel like family from the moment we arrived. She also pointed us to two local places to eat, and both were great. One was Santa Croce al Picco, part of the Hotel prestige group, and the other was Fattoria Marecoccola, a farm down the road with great food and a lovely family owner. Salute, we’ll be back. The hotel sits above Sorrento, so the views were amazing. Our rooms were clean and nice, with great decks and views, and the pool area was perfect. I also spent plenty of time enjoying a drink at the bar. There’s a parking lot if you drive, plus a little path behind the hotel for different views. The shuttle made getting down to the city and back easy, with set pickup times. The common areas were very clean, and all the staff were kind and helpful. Angela suggested the villas as a better choice for families next time, so we’ll stay there. Thanks to her and the whole team for making us feel so welcome.
