Residenza Il Campanile

The room had a great view, and even on a busy street we didn’t find it too noisy. Breakfast was nice, too. The host replied right away when we needed anything, drew us a map, and shared tips and ideas for things to do. It’s the best-located hotel I’ve stayed at, right in the center and less than a 10-minute walk down to the port. Highly recommend.

Breakfast was included, with a good range of options, and the rooms were spacious and clean. We had a lovely view over the street and its shops. The hotel is right on the main street and close to the train station, so the location was perfect. We heard some street noise, especially the church bell, but it didn’t bother us. Our host communicated really well, helped us get oriented, and offered useful recommendations. We’d gladly stay again.

We were very comfortable here. The rooms get plenty of natural light from several windows, and the bathrooms are almost as large as the rooms. The whole newly renovated building was elegant, nicely decorated, and spotless. Residenza Il Campanile was also good value for us, and I’d stay again. Loredana, the general manager, was wonderful. She arranged parking, suggested places to see, made breakfast, and brought anything extra we needed. She even checked in by Whatsapp. When she noticed I liked cherry yoghurt and it ran out, she went to the supermarket so there would be some the next day. So thoughtful and professional. Her sister Rosella looked after the upkeep and sanitation, and kept our room and the entire building immaculate. The location is right in the middle of downtown Sorrento’s shopping and restaurant area, lively and walkable into the late evening. The cathedral next door is beautiful and in use, so we could hear its bells on Sunday. It didn’t bother us, but could inconvenience others. There’s no pool, spa, gift shop, or elevator, so you’ll need to carry your luggage upstairs, which may be inconvenient for some older guests. We didn’t need those amenities, but others might.

Loredana’s service was truly incredible. She’s a real pro. The rooms are clean and spacious, especially the bathrooms, and look out over Sorrento's main street. You’re right in the middle of everything, about a 6-minute walk from the train and bus stops. The street can get loud on weekend evenings, with festivals going on and lots of people out. Still, it’s a fabulous hotel with a prime location. Highly recommended.
