Hotel Rivage Sorrento

The dinner restaurant was outstanding, and I'd make a point of eating there one night. Across the street, the grocery store had great choices for anyone who doesn't want to eat out every evening. The location was ideal for walking to shops, restaurants, the marina, port, and train station. The dining room has a beautiful ocean view. Staff were friendly, though the breakfast staff's English could be limited. The included buffet had lots of pastries, toast, bagels, croissants, a few kinds of fruit, cereal with very warm milk, and cold quiche. The omelette and ham-and-cheese toast were the best cooked options; the eggs and bacon were very undercooked. We enjoyed breakfast each morning despite that, but my husband wasn't happy about only getting one coffee. Our room was fine, but noise came straight through the very thin, uninsulated ceiling. It sounded as if someone were moving heavy furniture above us all night. I would have preferred a quieter room to those very high ceilings, and the old spring mattress was extremely uncomfortable. The beds need a major overhaul. I'd definitely ask for a third-floor room. Our garden room up there had a decent view of the cliff and trees, while the view got worse on the lower floors. A third-floor sea-view room would be ideal. Family members in the lower rooms weren't happy with their accommodations. The pool was small and very cold, but we didn't use it, so that didn't really matter to us.

We loved the pool area, especially for relaxing in the sun and taking in those mountain and sea views. The food and drinks were fantastic too. Hotel Rivage is lovely throughout, with a great location and really welcoming staff. We’d happily stay again when we’re back in Sorrento. Five stars all round.

We booked three of the hotel’s tours and enjoyed all of them. The staff were so friendly and helpful, and the reception team were especially pleasant. Rooms were modern and very clean. It made a great base for exploring Sorrento and the surrounding area.

The breakfast had a good range of choices, and the staff there were especially friendly. Our room at Hotel Rivage Sorrento was clean and cozy, with daily housekeeping. It’s only a few minutes’ walk from the central station. There’s a bar, a small pool for unwinding, and an elevator too. I’d definitely come back.
