At the end of the night, Salvatore drove us back to our hotel in lower Sorrento. We’d spent the evening at his family home above the coast, with a view of the sea that really stopped us in our tracks. He welcomed us with prosecco, bread, and olives, then served a Sorrento classic, linguine alla Nerano with tender zucchini in a balanced, silky sauce. He offered white or red wine with it, and my wife loved the dish. Next was pollo alla cacciatora with sweet peppers and a swirl of potato cream. The panna cotta with chocolate sauce was light and decadent, and his homemade limoncello was smooth and bright, though it knocked me off my feet in the best way. Salvatore is a generous host, craftsman, and storyteller who makes you feel like family in his home. Don’t miss this when you’re in Sorrento.

We took a cooking class at Chef Salvatore’s beautiful home overlooking the Sorrento coast. It was peaceful and relaxing, and the food was amazing. The gnocchi, meatballs, and tiramisu were the best I’ve ever had. Chef Salvatore was fantastic. I highly recommend it!

The best meal I’ve ever had, all things considered. Chef Salvatore and his father welcomed us into their home and culture, with excellent service, even better food, and a beautiful view of the sunset and Mt. Vesuvius. I couldn’t recommend the experience more.

The al fresco setting was amazing, and this was a perfect way to celebrate our 45th anniversary. We started with mini pizzas topped with burrata, anchovies, and basil picked from the herb garden just two minutes before they reached our plates. Then came excellent linguini and clams, followed by pulpo over escarole and creamy potatoes made without dairy. Thank you, Shanti House.
