The view was terrific, and there’s plenty of space. Fulvio was a super host and very accommodating. There’s even a full kitchen if you have time to cook. It’s not far from Sorrento’s center by car, or you can head up the hill to an excellent Michelin-star restaurant.

We had a wonderful week with olive groves, lemon trees, and birdsong all around us. The setting was stunning, and the host was great. Highly recommended.

Buses into the center take about 20 minutes, but they only come once or twice an hour and the system can be confusing. You need to buy tickets in advance through an app since drivers don’t take cash or cards. Getting back into Sorrento with seven cases in the heat was really hard, and a taxi quoted about 50 Euros for the five-mile trip, so it’s not the easiest stay for anyone who needs convenience or has limited mobility. Even so, we had a great couple of days, and the host and his family treated us so well. The villa itself was immaculate, well equipped, air conditioned, and had comfortable beds. The huge balcony had an absolutely stunning view across the bay to vesuvius. I can’t remember seeing a better one. The host even met us at the train and drove us to the villa, which was a lovely help because we would otherwise have been a bit lost.
