The place itself is beautiful, and Cuban night was fun. But dinner cost way too much for Platamona, especially since there wasn’t even a pizza option on the menu. I don’t think I’ll come back for dinner.

The fried calamari and chips were the one decent part of the meal. Service was painfully slow and disorganized, and we were told the wait would be very long unless everyone ordered the same dish. We went with the calamari, then asked for two fairly large platters of cured meats while we waited. They arrived before any plates, so we had to use bread from the platters to serve ourselves. After coffee and a digestif, without ordering dessert, the bill came to nearly agritourism prices, though the place was nothing like an agritourism. A terrible experience, not recommended.

The pine forest is so quiet and the sea is beautiful. I’ve had lunch here several times in July and August with friends, and the restaurant is clean and welcoming. There’s a cheerful family feel, Cuban music, and very good food. I’d recommend it to young people, families, or couples who like simple dishes with a bit of refinement.

We were welcomed nicely, and breakfast was good. We booked one single and one double room on June 9, 2019. The single was fine, but the double’s shower didn’t work and flooded the bathroom. Its French window was covered by a thick rubber curtain that smelled bad, and the room wasn’t clean enough.
