Camping Bella Italia Sardinia

The beach is nearby and nice, and breakfast and dinner were quite okay. Staff seemed to want to help, but there weren’t enough of them. We were sold this as a four-star hotel, but it’s nowhere near that. The room needed a much better clean. On arrival after check-in, we found ants on the floor and dirty cups and spoons. The sunbeds and umbrellas on the beach are old and need replacing. In reality, this is a two-star hotel.

I would never recommend this hotel. My father died seven days before our reservation, and we tried to cancel six days before the date. The hotel refused because we were one day past whatever cutoff applied and kept the full payment. They didn't offer to let us use the booking another time either. There was no empathy at all for what we were going through.

We had a sea-view room for a week at the end of August, with an old juniper tree right outside. The beach was only 20 meters away. Sun loungers and umbrellas were available when there were any, but they weren’t assigned, and there were only about 20 umbrellas and two loungers. Our room was clean, made up daily, and the towels were changed. The bathroom is basic, but that’s fine by the sea. The restaurant was okay, with a good variety at breakfast and different dinners each night. First courses were self-service, and second courses came from the warmer. The resort managers, their families, and the staff eat with the guests, which was a lovely touch. Lorenzo and Marika at reception were capable, efficient, and friendly. They booked us an excursion to Asinara when we asked, and it was fantastic. The resort makes a good base for seeing northern and northwestern Sardinia. You can head out after breakfast and come back for dinner without worrying about lunch. A little corner of paradise.

For the Motoclub twinning, we booked ahead, but still found out we were supposed to move to other facilities. Another group was sharper than us and insisted on staying, which helped us do the same. The others had meals included but had to keep coming and going, and lost that sense of being together. I was fairly satisfied with the services overall. The place is nice and surrounded by greenery, the kitchen is decent, and the price was excellent, probably a deal arranged with Motoclub. There were a few room problems, including lights that didn't work and a faulty hairdryer.
