I Palazzi San Lorenzo a Linari

Our stay felt homely, thanks especially to Francesco, who helped us with everything. The staff were very kind, and the restaurant was cozy and nice. This beautiful hotel has a typical Tuscan atmosphere, a pool and a tennis court. It was made from an old 13th-century monastery, so the rooms have an old-style feel. :)

We had a wonderful night, even with a thunderstorm outside. It’s a quiet, easy-to-reach place surrounded by Tuscan countryside, less than 15 minutes from Siena, with lots of green space and a pool. The building is historic, and construction rules in the area mean there’s no AC in the rooms and the windows aren’t soundproof. That has nothing to do with the owner or management. Carlotta at reception welcomed us, shared some history about the building and recommended a good restaurant nearby. A few cyclists even arrived with their bikes and stayed over. The breakfast was quite plentiful, and the dining area was pretty cool.

There’s a beautiful place to sleep here, but choose a suite or another room in the main building near reception. Avoid the rooms outside it: they’re dated and don’t match the website photos. Huge tubes run across the window, the windows only open halfway, some tiles were broken, and parts of the furniture were broken or old. Worst of all, there was a smell of gas.

We spent five days here with our family of six for our daughter’s 16th birthday in Italy. The apartment was huge and had everything we needed. The gardens are beautiful, and the building has a lot of history. We had a birthday dinner at the restaurant on site, where the food was delicious, and breakfast had lots of options. The staff were friendly and accommodating. Francesco especially made us comfortable, helped reserve parking and a restaurant, and recommended local places.
