Felt like a little slice of paradise!

A family place.

One star is all I can give, though it deserved less. This felt like a Dario Argento horror film. We’d booked well ahead for the late October to November 3 weekend, 20 people in all, including two children and a newborn. When we arrived to take over the apartments, they were crawling with bedbugs: under the sheets, on the mattresses, by the curtains, in the furniture, everywhere. The owner said this was “normal” for that time of year and that they had them at home too. He sent a woman to clean, and she said Alessandro already knew, since he and the gentleman’s mother had removed a ton of bedbugs the day before. During the call, she’d urged him to tell us about the problem so guests could be aware. Even after cleaning, the rooms filled with insects again. We asked for an immediate refund and left for somewhere 160 km away, which was a real hassle to arrange. We also lost half a day dealing with these people. Stay away if you don’t want to catch a disease. The photos show insects after cleaning.

I booked well in advance for a family weekend, November 1-3, with 21 people. Two days before we were due to arrive, I called to check that linens, towels, a crib, and the other basics would be there, and the owner reassured me. But when we arrived on November 1, there weren’t sheets for every bed, including the crib. I also had to provide the crib mattress myself, since the property doesn’t supply one “for hygiene reasons.” Far worse, bed bugs were all over the place: beneath the sheets and mattresses, on the sofas and curtains, in the bed frame, and under the ottomans. Staff came to clean after we reported it, but nothing changed, and they complained that this was a recurring problem. We had to leave and find somewhere for 21 people by 5 PM that day, more than 200 km away. We asked for a refund and it was granted. The apartments are very beautiful and surrounded by greenery, but I don’t recommend staying here because of the bed bug problem and how it was handled.
