Our host was friendly and helpful, offered great local tips, and tried to sort out the problems during our stay. Still, for what we paid for a week, Casa Stranges was a disappointment, and we can’t recommend it. The house feels too basic and poorly maintained, with several practical shortcomings. There are better places in the area for the same price. We mainly chose it based on photos of a rustic, charming house near the sea. Some things we missed in the listing were our responsibility: the main house kitchen has no hot water, dishwasher, or AC, and there’s no TV. But other issues weren’t clear beforehand. The house felt worn and generally unclean, as if it hadn’t had a proper clean in a long time. The shower had hot water only occasionally, and for the last two days there was no running water at all. Nobody in our group used the pool all week because of its condition. We also hadn’t realized the house is part of a larger building shared with the host’s family. The garden is shared too, and we passed daily through the overgrown section belonging to an elderly relative. It’s hard to make an objective review since expectations shape your impressions, but I’ve tried to give a fair account.
