With our small child, we felt at home at Griko from the moment we arrived, thanks to Cristiano and his lovely staff. It’s right in the heart of Salento, well placed for exploring the region, with lovely beaches nearby. We hope to return next time we’re in Italy.

There was no wifi, and you couldn’t turn off the air conditioning. The terrace was really dirty. This hotel was very bad, and I’m never coming back.

Embarrassing, and honestly terrifying. It felt like a ghost hotel run by ghosts, and it looked nothing like the online photos, which seemed to be years old. For eight out of our ten days, the pool was dirty and smelled bad. Every one of the 30 loungers was torn. Breakfast was awful, with cereal that had been open for six months as the only thing on the table. The few other guests there seemed disgusted too. Katia, the manager, seemed polite, attentive, and interested at first, before payment. After that, she became completely indifferent, and I don’t even want to repeat some of the things she said. She seemed to care only about collecting the money, then left “the hotel” to an utterly lost and incompetent 18-year-old. A total disgrace. If you have a reservation that you haven’t paid for yet, I strongly recommend cancelling it. In 30 years, I don’t think I’ve ever come across a place like this, run by people like that. I’m eagerly waiting for the establishment’s response.
