Bed Breakfast Gli Oleandri

A lovely weekend escape, with a friendly hostess and a relaxing feel. Lake Maggiore is only about a five-minute walk away.

I contacted the B&B on WhatsApp about staying from August 15th to 19th. The official website showed the room as available, but Mrs. Teresa told me the following morning that there was no availability. When I asked why, she offered different dates. I then checked whether this was the B&B on Fishermen's Island, and she said it was on the mainland. I had asked to stay, but nothing came of it. So why was that period shown as free, and why is it still listed as free today? Not professional.

The room is spacious and has a shower and toilet, and there’s also a shared kitchen and a very light breakfast. There’s parking in the yard, though getting in by car means using a very narrow street. The owners don’t speak English, so communication is difficult. The window looks toward the lake, but trees and buildings hide much of the view. The place is close enough to walk to both the center and the train station, but it’s right near the tracks and a large station, with noise all day that disturbed my sleep at night. At 85 euros a night, I found it expensive for what it is. It’s not very convenient, but could work for a night or two at most.

No air conditioning in the room, so I’d avoid it during hot weather.
