Melania was very accommodating and sorted out any issues. We found the apartment quiet despite its central location, thanks to the soundproof windows. The real wood floors and air conditioning were nice, and the large fridge has a roomy freezer compartment. There’s plenty of clean bedding and towels. The balcony is long but very narrow, faces the courtyard, and only has space for two people. For four, the bedroom with the sofa bed feels cramped. The shower sealant could use replacing, and the table and kitchen supplies are better suited to two: we were short on cutlery, cups, and plates, with barely enough for a day. A few more coat hooks in the hall would help too.

We’re on day three of our stay, with three more to go, and the ground-floor apartment has been great. There’s an outdoor spot for breakfast and all the amenities we need. Melania and Illaria have been excellent hosts. The children upstairs make a bit of noise on the wooden floor, but it’s fine for us. We’ve found plenty to do in Stresa, including browsing the delicatessen shops. The Lake Maggiore shore is beautiful, and the small ferries to islands such as Isola Bella are affordable. Highly recommended!

The old house dates to 1815 and has been renovated beautifully. It’s peaceful, yet the center of Stresa is only 200 meters away, with shops and supermarkets close by too. Inside, there’s heating, air conditioning, and a fully equipped kitchen with an induction hob, oven, and more. The internal elevator was a real luxury for my mother-in-law.

We found the ground-floor apartment comfortable and clean, and the hosts were welcoming and very helpful. The one downside is how clearly you hear people walking around upstairs.
