The pool is a highlight, with a beautiful setting among mountains and forests. There’s also a tennis court and ping pong, and the kitchen has a large fridge and dishwasher. Staff were polite throughout, from the emails before booking to the stay itself. One problem in our apartment was that the air conditioner vent faced straight onto the terrace, blowing hot air on us while we sat outside trying to enjoy the fresh air and views. The Wi-Fi signal was quite weak too, and even at 2 MB/s, the speed felt far too slow by today's standards. Still, it was a very pleasant stay.

A place is judged by more than its facilities. Attitude, helpfulness, and keeping one's word matter too, and problems show a place's true nature. I don't expect everything to be perfect. But when the hotel makes a reservation mistake and gives an incorrect offer, I expect it to take responsibility instead of charging extra to a client who did nothing wrong. Ignoring the client's attempts to communicate shows little respect. It comes across as arrogance, as though management assumes clients will come anyway and can simply withdraw its offer and move on. I've stayed in Italy many times, and this was a disappointing welcome. Reading the reviews, it seems management has issues with being helpful.

We only spent two nights at Corti di montepitti, but it seems like a lovely base for a summer holiday and exploring the region. The staff were wonderful and very accommodating. I’d definitely stay again when I’m in the area.

The pool area is great, and the staff are very friendly, especially the women who run activities for the kids. The apartments are a little dull, and cleanliness could be better. It’s a nice place for families, with lots of lovely beaches nearby and medieval villages such as Suvereto and Campiglia worth visiting. Don’t miss Piombino and its amazing Piazza Bovio!
