We needed rooms next to each other while travelling with three kids, and they sorted that out quickly. The rooms were comfortable, and the terrace was a lovely extra. We arrived at the end of October to find the bathroom heating already on, a thoughtful touch. Dinner at the restaurant was great, though it’s only open on certain days. The owners and staff made us feel welcome. We’ll be back one day, if only for more wine.

We only stayed one night on our trip, but I’d happily return. The rooms were roomy and we slept very comfortably, and the staff were lovely. Breakfast was good, in the Italian style. The local restaurant is said to be the best in the area, which is known for its delicious food.

You’re right by the fields in a quiet spot, though the town is small. It’s easy to drive to places like Udine, Palmanova, Aquileia, Triest or Cividale del Friuli, all well worth seeing. The rooms are spacious and comfortable, and the bathroom is large and well equipped. In the morning a friendly lady welcomed us and served a typical Italian breakfast: dry bread, jam, cookies, Nutella, fruit and coffee, with prosciutto available as an option. They also make their own wine, which you can buy there.
