Taormina Park Hotel

The location is excellent, and a sea-facing room gives you a stunning view. The service was normal, and the staff did their jobs. Still, Parkhotel Taormina feels like it has been left behind. The building and spacious-for-Italy rooms are dated, with the hotel's faded 1970s charm showing everywhere; a full renovation is overdue. Cleanliness was mediocre, and there was no wifi on the 5th floor. Breakfast was only served indoors, in a dull room with worn, patched tablecloths. The pool was acceptable, but there were far too few loungers for most guests to get a spot. As part of the Chincherini chain, it gives the impression of being run as a cash cow, with needed investment not being made. It's a pity, since a manageable amount of work could make the guest experience much better.

The location was accessible, but the bathroom smelled of sewage. There was dirt and hair on the sheets, and broken glass on the floor. This certainly didn't match the rating on booking.com.

The front desk staff were friendly and experienced, and I had a good stay. My clean room had a small balcony with a lovely view. The weak point was the WiFi signal, which was a bit poor.

Taormina's central location was perfect, and we loved relaxing by the beautiful pool. Breakfast had a lovely spread with plenty to choose from. The staff were so welcoming and accommodating, going above and beyond to make us feel at home. We'll miss seeing Nicola and greeting him with Buongiorno each morning. Thanks for a wonderful stay!
