The only good things were the central location and the nice balcony view. I booked after reading the positive reviews, then found out there are two houses and those reviews were supposedly about the other one. I travel a lot and have stayed in hostels around the world, but the first-floor room I got was the dirtiest, messiest place I've ever stayed. It seemed like a family lived there, with old, dirty things from the 80s everywhere and a bad smell that never went away. The room was ugly, the furniture was old, and the mattress had a crinkly plastic cover underneath. Even with the windows and doors shut, I could hear people talking outside and vehicles passing. The bathroom and kitchen were horrible, old, disorganized, and disgusting. The place badly needs renovating. The woman who welcomed me was nice, but the owner was unfriendly and couldn't understand why I was uncomfortable. I wouldn't recommend anyone stay there. I hope things change, because no one wants to sleep in a messy place like this. I'd be ashamed to invite friends over if it were mine, and it's shocking that they charge money for it. It's not worth a cent.

We regretted not booking a longer stay. The apartment was spacious, so there was room and comfort for everyone, and the clean bedroom and bathroom had all the facilities we needed. The kitchen was well equipped if you wanted to cook, and we were even given beach towels. Reaching the beach meant either a lovely walk with picturesque views or just a couple of minutes on the cable car. The host gave us a warm welcome and communication was great. We also got a good map and tips on places to eat and things to see. The location made everything convenient, close to the cable cars, the old city, historic sights, restaurants, and not far from the bus stop from the train station.

The room had a little balcony overlooking the sea, and there was also a shared space with a kitchen, living area, and a bigger balcony. It was clean and comfortable, in a great location, and very good value. Our host was gracious. Highly recommend.

We've stayed at this lovely guest house several times, and it's been clean and comfortable every visit. There's plenty of space, the location is excellent, and it's good value. The breakfast is ridiculously good, and the free beach towels were a nice extra. Strongly recommend it.
