Villa Mon Repos

A storm hit during dinner at my daughter's wedding, and the staff handled it so well. They handed out umbrellas as everyone hurried to the villa. After about 15 min of heavy rain, the weather cleared, and within minutes the team had dried and cleared the tables and chairs, seated everyone again, and served the ruined course once more. Every guest was amazed. We carried on dancing and celebrating until after 1am, and the rain ended up making the night even more memorable. My family is deeply grateful to Villa Mon Repos and its staff. We spent two days there, with a welcome party on the first night and the wedding on the second. The grounds are beautiful, and the event staff were the best I've ever worked with. It was a perfect evening despite the rain.

Inside the palace was neat, and the waitresses were kind and pleasant. The dishes and dessert tasted good. The seaside view, including Isola Bella, is fantastic by day and in the evening, though it's very dark at night. I think the location and the food and desserts could be improved further.

Our guests said the place felt like walking onto a film set, and the location really is superb. We got married at Villa Mon Repos on the first of May 2025, and the whole experience was fantastic. From arriving at the villa through breakfast and our departure the next morning, the team gave us personal, professional service and were flexible throughout. The food was delicious, and the local drinks were much appreciated. Huge compliments to the team!

The villa is undeniably beautiful, and the staff are friendly, but couples should be very cautious about booking it for a wedding. I've attended two weddings there in recent years, and both couples ran into serious problems beforehand. One had to pay its deposit twice after a “change in property management.” They learned only after paying that the event-hosting rights had been auctioned after the previous owner died. The new team had access to the old booking agenda, but didn't honor existing deposits. While staying at a hotel overlooking the villa with the spouses, we saw that no events took place on dates that had previously been confirmed as booked, which suggests other couples may have moved their weddings elsewhere. At both weddings, even basic things like bathrooms that lock were missing. Nearly everything needed for a wedding is charged separately instead of being included in the rental fee. Vendors recommended by the villa also cost a lot more than is typical in Sicily.
