The one small drawback was that the hot water seemed a bit limited. Still, Roberto and Laura were fantastic, and everything about del Giglio was superb. We wished we could’ve stayed longer than three nights. San Donato is an under-the-radar gem, with a great location for exploring northern Tuscany and central Florence just a quick 30 minutes away. There are plenty of places to choose from in Tuscany, but this one was even better than it looked online. Highly recommend.

The views from the patio garden were amazing, and breakfast there was delicious and made just for us. Roberto was full of local knowledge and helped plan our short time in Tuscany. He and Laura treated us like family. Roberto welcomed us warmly, drove us to a nearby restaurant after a long travel day and picked us up later. Laura was just as lovely. They even let us do laundry late at night and stay past checkout to dry it. We also got to see some of Roberto’s artwork in his studio. The B&B and its beautiful surroundings were comfortable, with every detail thoughtfully arranged. It felt magical, and these are the best hosts I’ve ever had. I’d definitely return if I can. You won’t regret staying here!

Roberto, the owner, was so kind and attentive, which made my stay even better. The room was comfortable and clean, breakfast was delicious, and the location was peaceful while still close to the main attractions. I had a wonderful stay at Bed and Breakfast Del Giglio and highly recommend it.

Having the whole apartment to ourselves was lovely. We rented both rooms, and my family of four really enjoyed the accommodations and the cute town of San Donato. Beatrice and Laura were welcoming and so helpful. We started each day with a delicious breakfast on the patio, then explored nearby little towns and wineries. Afterward, the quiet and privacy were just what we needed to unwind, with four great local restaurants only a five-minute walk away. Believe the good reviews, and highly recommend Del Giglio. We’ll be back!

Breakfast in the courtyard came with a lovely view across the Tuscan landscape, and there’s an underground cellar where you can relax with beer or wine. We also enjoyed meeting the hosts’ cute dog, Lollo!, and spotting their pet tortoises wandering freely in the garden, so watch your step. The rustic place was full of charm, with a spacious apartment and cosy, clean bedrooms. Roberto was friendly and very helpful. We stayed two nights in July 2023 and wished we’d booked another night or two. Couldn’t have asked for a better place in Chianti. We’ll definitely come back if we return. Highly recommended!
