Villa Lia

The owner who greeted us, Mr. Valentino, was really kind. The villa was clean, comfortable and welcoming, and it's in a peaceful area only a few hundred meters from the center, an easy walk. It's a great place to switch off from everyday life. The only catch is that you may not want to go to the beach at all, since you'll want to enjoy the villa and never leave. We hope to come back next year!

We paid for the listed services, but many weren't usable, and the owners never came to fix them despite repeated reminders. The WiFi kept dropping, mosquito nets were broken, the pool net was destroyed, bedroom lights didn't work, the fridge leaked badly, and the power kept surging. The outside main meter sat in a broken recess, accessible from the street. Garden care was shameful too, and our dog got ticks. We had to search the nearby villages for tick treatment; ZooMania in Taviano was one option. The broken mosquito nets made it hard to open windows in the summer, since lizards, mosquitoes and wasps could get in. We waited for repairs and for the pool to be cleaned, but neither happened. You can't pay full price for services included in the rental and then be unable to use them. The owner was rude and accused us of things we hadn't done in text messages after we left, without checking them in person. Sadly, we won't return. The villa itself is spacious, attractive and nicely furnished, with a pool, air conditioning, irrigation and a solar thermal panel with a built-in boiler for hot water. It's large and has all the comforts you could need, which makes the management problems all the more disappointing.
