Hotel La Marchesina

I’ve stayed here three times and have had a great time on each visit. The rooms are clean and tidy. On my last visit in December 2025, I brought a group of 16 people, and we all enjoyed staying overnight. I also got to try the pizza, and it was delicious. I definitely recommend it.

We stopped for one night on the way to Sicily and would happily come back. Dinner at the hotel was two very good pizzas at reasonable prices, and breakfast had plenty of choices, including options for people with allergies or intolerances. Our room was spacious, with clean sheets and a big, comfortable bed. The bathroom was also roomy and generally clean, though the shower could use improvement. It was the first time I’d found mosquito repellent in a hotel.

We found the location very convenient, with ample parking at the foot of the village and near the highway exit. We stayed during Princess Costanza's celebration and returned a few days later. The spacious, airy rooms have wide views over the valley, and the staff were always available. They were also perfectly happy to give us a slightly late checkout. We didn’t try the restaurant, but it’s beautiful, decorated with reclaimed country elements. Breakfast was ample too. The property has everything it needs and seems to have even more potential. Thanks to the staff!

The internal parking was the one redeeming feature, and having a supermarket right outside could be useful. You absolutely need a car here, though I wouldn’t recommend the hotel. For a place rated 4 stars, it felt more like a 2. We arrived on the morning of the 25th, and the receptionist seemed annoyed and completely uninterested in us as customers. That had already put me off staying. Our room was fairly clean but spartan, and the dusty carpet triggered a bit of my allergy. The mattress and pillow were terrible for our backs. Breakfast also fell well short of what I’d expect from a 4-star hotel: two cakes, one dry, croissants, yogurt and everything else packaged, with only a small portion of savory food. There was no one in the breakfast room since the receptionist was handling it. If you wanted a cappuccino or something else, you had to go look for her.
