Villa Ester

Villa Ester was a comfortable place for my husband and me to stay. Our room was neat and tidy, recently renewed, and cleaned every day. The owners made us feel very welcome, and the reception was always available if we had questions or needed anything. The B&B is between two lakes, a really strategic location. We liked lago di Levico best, and found available car parking very close by, at the nearby supermarket. We had an amazing vacation and highly recommend it.

We booked three nights, from December 30th to January 2nd, despite seeing some negative reviews, and everything went well. The drive there is convenient and scenic, and the location has breathtaking lake views. The car park is a real plus. Our room was warm and clean, with the essentials: linens, towels, hairdryer, kettle, TV, hangers, chair, and countertop. The shower has a curtain but no tray. It works, though a table and a couple of chairs would make better use of the available space. The owner greeted us with a smile, which you can’t take for granted these days. Keep in mind it’s a one-star property, so some complaints seem pointless. I’d return.

I regret writing this, but people should know what to expect before booking. The location is central and convenient, and the property allows pets, which are positives. But cleanliness is the basis of hospitality, whatever the star rating. The white towels and bathrobes had obvious yellow and gray stains, as did the bedspread, which suggested they hadn’t been washed properly. In my view, poor hygiene can lead to serious illness. The double bed was made from a base and two single mattresses held together with a fitted sheet, with no hygienic mattress cover. We were in direct contact with the sheet and mattress. The bed was uncomfortable, kept coming apart and making noise with the slightest movement, so our sleep was constantly interrupted. There’s no air conditioning, and the only way to ventilate the room was to open the windows, which had no mosquito nets. In some rooms, including ours, there was no shower tray or cubicle, just a curtain. After only two showers, the whole small bathroom was flooded and easy to slip in. There was no reception to contact if something went wrong, just a WhatsApp number.

You get a wonderful view from the terrace, and the villa sits between Lake Caldonazzo and Lake Levico in Tenna, a beautiful village on a hill. Our rooms were spacious, charming, and spotlessly clean. Mrs. Margherita was very friendly and courteous. It’s a priceless location for a weekend away, and you won’t regret staying here.
