Villa Lolù

The view of San Giovanni Valdarno’s lights from the pool was a great way to spend the evenings, with the guys having cigars and drinks while the girls enjoyed the hot tub. We stayed four days and loved it. Gaetano was an amazing host, and we had dinner with him twice. His seafood meal was incredible, and the rest of our food in Italy couldn’t compete. He made his own prosciutto and wine, and served vegetables from the garden. We drove to Florence and around Tuscany from here. I rarely write reviews, but had to for this place. Incredible.

We had an unforgettable week at Villa Lolù. The villa itself is charming, but Gaetano and Francesca were the real highlight. They were so friendly and hospitable, and Gaetano cooked fantastic Italian meals with his own wine. We enjoyed every moment there.

We booked Villa Lolu and Gaetano was helpful from the start, sharing travel advice and connecting us with Viaggi d'Ambra for a Chianti winery tour. As our arrival got closer, he also helped arrange transport and rental cars. From the first night, when he and his family welcomed us with a home-cooked Tuscan feast, homemade wine, and limoncello, we felt like family. The next night brought some of the best pizza we’ve ever had, with beer, wine, and limoncello, and most of the ingredients came from his farm. Gaetano was around whenever we needed him, or wanted to share a Grappa and chat, while still giving us space. He started out as our AirBnB host and became a friend. The villa itself is everything we hoped for in a Tuscan stay: the drive up, grounds, views, house, outdoor areas, and especially the pool. We loved relaxing on the back porch or by the pool, looking over the town and distant mountains. It was the highlight of our Italian vacation, and I’m sure Villa Lulu will be part of our next one, whatever the itinerary. Thank you, Geatano, family, and friends!

We spent over a month in Europe, and this stay is easily one of our most memorable. Gaetano and Francesca welcomed us into their home and made us feel like family. The property had everything we could ask for, and they were wonderful hosts. Gaetano cooked several authentic Tuscan meals for our group, and we loved them.
