CDSHotels Terrasini - Città del Mare

The stay was so disappointing and frustrating that we left after one night, even though we had booked two rooms for three nights for a family vacation at CDS Hotel Terrasini. We arrived around 8:40 PM and asked about dinner. The buffet restaurant charged us €25 per person, but it was due to close at 9:00 PM. The food looked as if it had been sitting out for hours, and staff were already cleaning up and switching off lights while we tried to eat. It felt rushed and unwelcoming. My bathroom smelled foul, the room was dirty, and the AC rattled loudly. Next door, my daughter and son-in-law had similar problems, with bad smells in the bathroom and even on the sheets and pillows. We had to leave early the next morning because of a family emergency. I told the front desk and asked if we could get a refund for the two unused nights. They told me to email the hotel, which I did. CDS Hotels refused, saying we hadn’t complained about the rooms, even though we had to leave urgently and were clearly upset. I’ve emailed CDS Hotel Terrasini several more times and asked for the hotel management’s contact details, but no one has responded. The hotel let us down with the food service, room cleanliness, and a complete lack of empathy or professionalism from customer service. I’d strongly advise others to look elsewhere when visiting Sicily.

We were there in May and had such a good time that I forgot to leave a review, but they deserve one. The view was beautiful, the food selection was good, and the activities team did a great job keeping everyone entertained. Reception staff were friendly and helpful, and the lady manager was especially respectful and supportive throughout our stay. One small thing: the bartender could be more respectful toward tourists. We still had a great experience and will definitely be back soon. I highly recommend the hotel!

The hotel is close to the best attractions and has lots of great sports facilities. Our rooms were great, with AC, and the service was amazing. They even had small music bands come and play.

Food was quite poor, though the drinks were very reasonably priced. At lunch and dinner, we preferred buying drinks at the bar over the wine on tap. The resort is enormous, has everything, and is well run, with great staff, super rooms, and outstanding views. There were many more positives than negatives, and we’ll return. The cliff pools and slides are amazing, but they close quite regularly, and we would have liked more chances to swim in the sea, since those areas were usually closed off. We visited just weeks before closing, so lots of resort features were already shut or not running. It’s very remote, with no bars, restaurants, shops, or beaches within walking distance, so a car is essential. Public transport is almost nonexistent, and the hotel shuttles had stopped. We rented a car from the hotel for very little. Terrasini is a 10-minute drive away and has plenty of restaurants and shops, plus a beach. Palermo is lovely and worth seeing, though a nightmare to drive through. Trapani was lovely too, but I wouldn’t bother with Marsala. Sicily is very run down and there’s litter everywhere, which, according to the guide books, is well known. Thanks x
