The winery tour was one of the highlights of our stay. A staff member guided us in English, explained the history of the place and how Lunelli wines are made, then led a tasting of four top wines paired with a delicious lunch. We won’t forget it, and we were glad to use the discount on our wine purchase. The vineyard setting is part of a winery owned by the Lunelli family, which gives the place a distinctive Tuscan feel. The staff made a great first impression. Leonardo and the Czech speaking woman were kind, professional and available whenever we needed help, always with a smile. They made things feel almost like a family while keeping the service high. Our spacious apartment was clean, fragrant, well equipped with kitchen facilities, and cleaned daily. The beds were comfortable and everything felt harmonious and peaceful. Breakfast was generous, with fresh local Italian sweet and savory foods, fruit, vegetables and quality regional ingredients, all tasty, along with excellent coffee. The grounds had a lovely pool overlooking the countryside. Set among vineyards on a private drive with ample parking, the renovated villa and apartment buildings offered real privacy and a chance to slow down. As a seasoned traveler with high standards, I can confidently say Casale Podernovo was one of my best stays in Tuscany, or anywhere. It combines quality, tranquility, privacy and authenticity, and I recommend it for its soul, attention to detail and family atmosphere. Five stars without hesitation.

It was much better than we expected. The accommodation was very clean, breakfast was excellent, and the beautiful grounds were well looked after. Everyone on staff was friendly. Leonardo was especially attentive and knew a great deal about the wines and how they’re made.
