Convento dei Cappuccini

The views made the location especially memorable. The historic building has been updated to modern standards while keeping its original character, and we had an amazing stay.

The village and its amazing views make this a great location. But the service needs a lot of work. The bedrooms are separate from the bathrooms, and when we arrived to check in, our host was nowhere to be found. We were left stranded and got no reply to our calls or messages, even by the time of writing.

We spent a week at Cappucini and saw it both peaceful and busy, including during a large family celebration on the weekend. The convent provided wonderful food for lunch and dinner at the celebration. It’s a beautiful historic convent with fantastic mountain views, just minutes from Tolfa’s charming village centre. Breakfast was tasty, with local fruit and fresh croissants, and the staff were pleasant, helpful, and gave great service. Strongly recommended!

The place itself is enchanting, with magnificent views of the surrounding mountains and a big outdoor area to relax in. We came as a CAI group from Terni for two hikes on the Miners' Trails in the Tolfa Mountains, and had a wonderful time with both the rooms and the food. Everything was homemade at this family-run business, where two generations are involved and locals work too. The owners welcomed us warmly and were very kind. Marta at reception was especially energetic, kind, tireless, and always on the ball. I highly recommend it.
