It was an amazingly quiet and authentic experience, with a real human touch. Andrea treated us so well, and our conversations were part of the stay. Borgo Riccio sits above the coastal villages in the Cilento region, south of Amalfi, making it a nice place to stay away from their bustle. The view over the mountain villages of Torchiara is commanding, the sunsets are spectacular, and the air feels fresh. The accommodations are clean, and Angela is very friendly. It’s close to Paestum’s Greek temples and to a rich farming area known for Buffalo Mozzarella, with olive trees everywhere.

A peaceful place set in its own gardens at the edge of a quiet village, with a small 10m pool. It’s about a 10-minute drive from Agropoli-Castellabate. Breakfast is included, and the coffee was very good. There aren’t regular lunch or dinner options, but they did provide lunch when we asked. Two restaurants and a bar are an easy walk away, with others and a gelatteria within a 25-minute walk.

The room was great, and we enjoyed walking into the village for a lovely pizza. The area is lovely too. Breakfast was really good in a great room at the top of the property, but the bits didn’t match. The whole place felt a bit random and chaotic. I get the feeling I just caught them on a bad day. M
