The staff were pleasant and courteous, and the rooms were very clean, though a little small, which is typical in southern/central Italy. The food was fresh, generous, and very reasonably priced. It's a nice, peaceful family-oriented hotel and restaurant on a hillside in Torgiano Italy. I'd definitely book here again if I were back in this part of Italy.

The location is convenient for travellers, and the hotel is easy to reach by car. The service was very nice and professional. The rooms aren't “new,” and while the spot works well for a stop on the way, it's still not the “best” choice for a holiday trip.

DO NOT STAY AT THIS HOTEL! We had an awful experience. We came to this beautiful part of Italy to compete in the European championship of clay target shooting, so we needed proper, uninterrupted rest. We checked the TripAdvisor reviews and they seemed favourable. We chose Hotel Ristorante Dante because it looked like the best local option with air conditioning, and agreed to the room price when booking. In reality, not a single night was free of disturbance. On all but one night, either the manager or his father switched off the air conditioning after we'd gone to bed. We'd wake up in the night sweating. We had specifically picked a hotel with AC, and this was uncomfortable and completely unnecessary. We raised it with the manager after the first night. The AC stayed on the following night, when he was covering the night shift, but on the other nights his father was on duty and insisted on turning it off after midnight. We ended up getting up at 2am and walking down the hallway to switch it back on at the main switchboard. As paying guests, we shouldn't have someone else deciding whether we can sleep comfortably. The room doors also had big gaps around them, so they did little or nothing to block noise from other guests. On the first night, the man opposite us snored loudly enough to wake us, and, judging by the shouting along the corridor in several languages for much of the night, many others too. The next night, a couple one room away were very loudly “expressing their physical attraction,” which was funny in a way, but still kept us awake. At breakfast we asked the staff to raise these problems with the manager and owner. They refused, apparently afraid their volatile boss would fire them on the spot. Our Italian is limited, though the staff spoke English very well. On the third night, our room door lock broke and we couldn't get in. The manager came with his master key, which didn't work either, then aggressively swung on the handle and slammed it up and down to force the door. For a moment we thought he might kick it in. He eventually freed the damaged lock. This was around midnight, and the noise brought other guests out to complain. We repeatedly used Google Translate to explain our concerns to the manager and owner, but they didn't seem to take them in. They just shrugged and said “Ok.” Eventually, I asked an Italian friend to translate a few paragraphs explaining our frustration. She did it promptly, and I handed the message to the manager. On the last night he finally agreed with another extra-loud “OK.” Thankfully, the AC stayed on and we got some sleep. I wouldn't recommend the hotel to anyone looking for a comfortable stay or expecting the hotelier to be pleasant and friendly. The restaurant and breakfast staff, along with the cleaners, were excellent and clearly keep the hotel going through their friendliness. It's a shame the facilities and the owners and manager don't match them.

I've travelled around the world, and this is the first pool I've found where you have to wear a swimming cap. The local kids' caps keep coming off in the water, so what's the point? And the pool closes at 1900h in the middle of summer. Unbelievable.

A lovely place to unwind with family or a small group. There's a lounge area with a pool and jacuzzi, and you can also cycle around the area.
