Hotel Ristorante Glavjc

A vintage gem, with excellent lake views and a great location. The food is among the best, and the hotel is incredible, with friendly, attentive staff. Getting there can be a little difficult without a car, but the bus stop is convenient and Como is close by.

The staff gave us such a warm welcome and were super friendly. We had delicious food with a spectacular view of Lago di Como, and it was great to have vegetarian options. Highly recommended.

Dinner came with a breathtaking view, and Alex was wonderfully polite. He spoke English very well and gave us great ideas for places to see around Lake Como. We even rented a boat and took it out ourselves! This charming family-run hotel has its owners involved at reception and in the kitchen. The owner made us feel very welcome, our room had a fantastic view, and the service was impeccable. The food was amazing. We highly recommend it, A+.

The panna cotta was the standout. I tried another one on the train the next day, hoping it might come close to the one at hotel Glavjc, but it really didn't. The scampi and sage brown butter ravioli were delicious too, and our mixed green salad balanced out the rich dishes nicely. They also have a big wine selection. It felt a little spooky arriving at this retro, small hotel in thunder and rain with hardly any guests around. By dinner, though, the restaurant was full of people and had come alive. The food was incredible, better than what we'd had at a “better” rated hotel during earlier nights nearby. I'd happily return just to eat here. The staff were fantastic and really tried to help despite our limited Italian. The place felt homey, and the team was caring. I think three people made sure we got our cab in the morning.
