The staff are approachable and speak good English, and the rooms are clean and modern. There's a small safe and fridge tucked away in the room, though storage space is limited, so bring extra hangers if you can. Showers can take a while to warm up depending on the time, so shower late or get up early. The large mall right next door is convenient, with the downside that it can be noisy as late as 10 pm, even on Sunday. There is free parking. Each floor has its own ironing room, and downstairs there's a gym and meeting rooms with Macs. Outside, there's a great seating area. Breakfast is a continental buffet with eggs, beans, toast, cereals, gluten-free cornflakes, soya milk, and dairy-free chocolate spread. One railway station is a five-minute walk away; the other takes about fifteen minutes but has parking. The train to Napoli takes around 25 minutes. If you're driving to Napoli, the toll is about 2.30 euros, and cash is best. Pompeii is about a ten-minute drive, and Herculaneum around 30 minutes.

We chose Moxy Pompeii to see Paestum and Pompeii, and the location worked very well with our rental car. Without a car, I expect the stay would be quite different, since taxis are hard to find and very expensive. This is a basic, affordable hotel with what you need for a quiet, safe visit. Torre Annunziata is an old town being redeveloped as a shopping destination, and Moxy and the Maximall are the first part of that project. The mall is huge, with plenty of good shops and restaurants. It was especially useful when the airline lost our luggage and we needed replacement clothes and toiletries. Supermarket CONAD is nearby and helped in that situation too. We enjoyed the fountains show. The fountains are small, sure, but this isn't the Las Vegas strip. The hotel, parking, and mall all felt safe. Rooms were very clean, beds comfortable, but there was very little room for luggage. Breakfast was modest, consistent, and good quality. Paying extra or upgrading for a Vesubius or Fountain view didn't seem worth it. All the hotel staff were especially kind and helpful. They did their best to understand my English and Spanish, and always seemed glad to see us and assist. Special thanks to Federica at check-in, whose customer service was truly good. I absolutely recommend the hotel. I was surprised by reviews complaining that rooms are small or that the hotel is in Torre Annunzziata rather than right beside the Pompeii archaeological site. The location is clear on the map, and the website gives accurate room sizes. Of course it's not a JW Marriott, and the prices aren't JW prices either.

The air conditioning was set much too cold, and there was no way to switch it off or adjust it to a comfortable setting. Other than that, we had no complaints. The hotel was nice, the rooms clean, the staff friendly, and breakfast had an international selection. There's a big shopping center next door with lots of restaurants. It's also close to Pompeii's historic centre.

After a dreadful Airbnb, moving here saved the final three nights of our holiday in Italy. The rooms were modern, quiet, and clean, with beds I really liked. The staff were friendly and supportive, and even managed to put us in adjacent rooms after we booked two at short notice. The mall next door also gives you plenty of places to eat and shop.

My husband and I, both seniors with Platinum Elite membership, were very disappointed. The Marriott is only a year old but feels poorly built and designed for Gen Z guests travelling with a backpack. Our room was as small as, perhaps smaller than, a cruise ship cabin. There wasn't a single drawer or an in-room safe, and the shower was tiny. One wall had a strange grid on it. Little flies kept appearing, and I think they came through a gap in the shower wall. The bedside table on one side was so small I kept knocking things off. There were plenty of European outlets, and the bed was comfortable. We could adjust the room temperature, but for a new hotel, there were no USB ports. Getting hot water was another problem. The sink stayed cold until evening, and we had to run the shower for at least ten minutes before it warmed up. The faucet sent out a hard, narrow stream. Staff tried to help, but the woman checking us in didn't mention that breakfast was 15 euro per person. It was the worst hotel breakfast I've had in Europe. Coffee came from a machine that was often broken and tasted bad. The mall next door has good restaurant options, and I wish we'd eaten there, though the hotel was more convenient. You can walk to Pompeii ruins in about 30 minutes and take the train to Naples or Sorrento. Be careful on foot, since there aren't sidewalks the whole way and traffic is heavy. The hotel arranged a taxi that was supposed to cost 20 euro. We paid by credit card and got a 5 euro surcharge, but the total came to 33 euro, or $38, for a 1.5 mile ride. We felt ripped off. I wouldn't recommend this hotel. Staying in Sorrento or Naples and taking the easy train to Pompeii would be better.
