Cala Volta Comfort House

The only good parts were the parking and the kind, helpful woman who showed us to the apartment. The photos and reasonable price had impressed us, but within five minutes we wanted to leave. Turning on the tap brought a strong sewer smell that lasted all night, got into our clothes, and kept us from sleeping. There was peeling plaster in several places, a broken bathroom handle, and a wobbly bedside table. When my partner lay on the right side of the bed, the base suddenly gave way. There’s nothing comfortable about this place. Don’t be taken in by the photos, or you could lose a lot of sleep.

I expected much more, but it really wasn’t what I’d hoped for, and I won’t be coming back. The place looks different in person from the photos, with plaster falling off. You couldn’t put anything near the “wall” without it ending up on the floor. The bathroom sewer smell was so bad it was hard to breathe, the TV had no connection and didn’t work, and we felt cut off. Room “2” had no mini fridge. The cleaning supplies were just two small bottles, enough for one person. The supposed “double bed” was two single beds resting on a double base that kept coming apart, so my husband and I slept separately in a way. We even found a dead cockroach under the sink. For the price per night, I don’t think this place is worth it, even if Torre del Greco attracts tourists. I do the same work as you, cleaning hotel and B&B rooms, and there’s a lot to improve in both maintenance and cleaning. Negative reviews are unpleasant, but sometimes they help show what needs fixing.

We’d stayed at this B&B before under different management, but this time the organization was terrible. We arrived late and had no electricity. It went out three times, and the manager didn’t know what to do. Later we heard it’s a common issue for other guests too. There was no Wi-Fi, the TV didn’t work, and nobody seemed interested in fixing anything. The bathroom smelled of sewage, the shower had broken parts, and barely any hot water came out. Then in the morning, the bar we’d been told to go to for the “paid and included” breakfast was closed for its regular closing day. No one had told us, and we still had to pay for breakfast. Honestly, I’d give a zero if I could. In my opinion, they shouldn’t be in business. I might have called it a “bad” day, but apparently disappointing paying guests is common here. Have a nice day.

The staff were friendly, but luckily we only spent one night at Cala Volta “COMFORT” house. The room had dust, and there was a persistent sewer smell from the bathroom, apparently included in the price. There wasn’t hot water in either the shower or sink. The jet bath was only useful if you’d already had a sauna, since the water was cold. A little treasure hunt also awaited for the hairdryer, air conditioner remote, and coat hanger. The idea of plastering the walls around the room is a nice touch.
