Palazzo Marage

We had the top-floor suite, which was spacious and came with a sauna, hot tub, Turkish bath, and walk-in shower. From one side we could see Vesuvius, and from the other, Capri and the Torre Del Greco coast. The staff were pleasant, professional, and helpful with information about the area and the amenities. Breakfast was limited, but enough to get us going. We also learned that many places outside the hotel open later, so breakfast options around the city were limited too. The property was about 15-25 minutes from Naples center, the market place, and Naples airport. We had an amazing stay and would highly recommend it to anyone visiting the area.

Palazzo Vialdo is a good tip for pizza, and there are lots of convenience stores nearby if you want to shop for groceries. Pompeii is only 6 minutes away by taxi, and you can take the train too. We had spectacular views of Mount Vesuvius and the sea, especially from the upstairs room with its hot tub and private terrace. The staff were friendly and answered all my questions. It’s a great place to stop for a couple of days before exploring the rest of Italy. I’d definitely stay again if I get the chance. Thank you.

The room and bathroom were clean, and the place has WiFi and AC, which was a plus in summer. The receptionists were nice, but couldn’t offer much help. The hotel doesn’t arrange a taxi, so you have to find one yourself. The nearest metro is 20 minutes away, and a taxi to Leonardo, the closest metro, costs €20. If you’re on a budget, the bus pass is the better option. There’s no laundry room, and the nearest laundromat is a 13-minute bus ride away, which isn’t convenient when you’re traveling and need to wash clothes. The hotel is about an hour and a half each way from the attractions and the beach. The nearby pizzerias are the only good thing within walking distance for dinner. The area didn’t feel very safe to me, so be careful walking around. People lurking around may try to stop you and talk, but it’s a distraction.

The building and room were beautiful, which makes the poor service a shame. There was no lift, so I had to carry my large suitcase down the stairs. A male staff member saw me struggling and stayed focused on his phone. Breakfast and coffee were poor too. I won’t stay here again.
