Hotel 2 Palme

The hotel has a private beach and provides towels, and the staff really make sure you feel welcome and comfortable. It’s a place with tradition, and it reminded us of what a hotel stay should feel like. We spent a few days here and had dinner in the hotel restaurant, where the food was delicious. Compliments to the chef and crew. The room was spacious and usefully furnished, breakfast was just right, and the service felt like that of a five-star hotel.

The room was lovely, with a luxurious looking bathroom, and the air conditioning worked perfectly. Our mini fridge wasn’t cooling properly, but the desk lady was happy to help when we told her. We hadn’t asked for a good view, so the upgrade to a beautiful Lake Garda view was a nice surprise. We also had a racebike with us, and since the lady thought there might not be enough room for it, she let us store it for free in a ground floor room. The breakfast had a nice variety. Just be aware the pool isn’t at this hotel, it’s a 10-minute drive to another hotel. We ate at the restaurant one day when we didn’t have the energy to go into the city centre. There was only one server, but he was very polite and helpful. Service was quick at first, while there was just one other couple there. Later, when we think the owner arrived, the server focused on him. After we’d finished our drinks and dish, nobody came back, so we eventually had to get the server’s attention ourselves to order dessert. The food was perfect. We’d tried lots of pasta after a few weeks in Italy, and these were by far the best. Most desserts had sold out, so we got the last tiramisu, which was great. The breadsticks were exceptional too. We ate about two thirds before the meal even arrived, and they brought us another batch without us asking. Very happy!

The owners were very friendly, and the high-up views were lovely. Getting there means taking an extra drive up some hazardous hills, but it was worth it to get away from the bustle of Garda. There were bikers, hikers and fast cars all the way up. The rooms are very small but modern, and the shower was so good you won’t want to get out. The restaurant near the church at the top was surprisingly good, the best we had in Garda.

We had a great, pleasant stay and will definitely come back. The owners were super friendly, our room was clean and nice with a perfect view, and breakfast was delicious.
